Putnam was a political genius who studied social capital and its relation to civic engagement. Social capital having formerly been known to only a few sociology and economy theorists, it is perhaps right to state that his books introduced the concept of social capital to the populace or widespread public. The greatest praised titles comprise the best selling ‘Bowling Alone: The collapse and Revival of American Community’, ‘Better Together: Restoring the American Community’, which was published in 2003, shows the study of new forms of social connectedness. A social structure can be defined as stable patterns of human interactions and behaviours (Innocente 2015). Canadian tire possesses these characteristics because their employees go to work and commit to hands on labour for the common goal of earning income. Cultural capital has great power through the control and maintenance of traditions, expected and accepted roles and behaviours, notably gender roles, important artefacts, language, institutions and services (Navarro, 2006). Of these, two essential contributors being educational facilities and religious institutions (Navarro, 2006).
