Snowboarding is not a real sport, not a real life style, and not a real income. This is what some people might say about snowboarding and it might be true for many but for the few it is a job and it is a lifestyle. And I’m not just talking about the professionals, I’m speaking for the manager’s, photographers, and resort maintenance crew. But to me this sport has gone through an amazing transformation throughout history, the times of going to a fresh untouched face with your buddies or cruising through the park to make a edit. These adventure between friends has lead to the creativity and exploration of snowboarding. Yes snowboarding did have competitions when it started but it wasn't serious it was more of enjoying time with people doing something that was fun and different. But when Tom Sims and Jake Burton started to manufacture snowboard in mass and have teams to compete snowboarding started to become more competitive, but it still was something everyone was enjoying. But once other companies started seeing snowboarding become really popular they started to take over. This lead to companies such as Sims Snowboards and Burton Snowboards to step up their game in snowboard production and competition. Tricks became more technical and mountains became more open to the idea of snowboarding on the mountain. Because at the time very few and I mean like approximately only 10 resorts in the united states around the 80’s allowed snowboarding on the mountain. But then snowboarding took off at a very fast pace for a sport and by around 2007 only 4 resorts still banned snowboarding from their slopes. So in a way the help of some companies and serious competition lead to a great growth in snowboarding. But with that the true life and light of snowboarding faded
