Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was ordinally thought to be what would end Walt Disney’s film making career, as no one thought that it would be successful. All of that changed when the movie premiered. After its first screening, which ended with an applause from many of the best actors and actresses at the time, Disney began appearing in the media and everyone knew his name. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs earned Walt Disney an Academy Award, which was unique because it included seven miniature Academy Awards, each symbolizing a dwarf, as well as the film was nominated for an Oscar for its music. The movie was originally advertised with merchandise as well as different media, such as a comic strip. The merchandise campaign never truly stopped and new items still appear in shops to this day. After a quick search online through various third-party popular culture stores, such as Hot Topic, Spencer’s, and Box Lunch, hundreds of different, modern items can be found related to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and it doesn’t seem to be anything in particular either. T-shirts, posters, reusable cups, figurines, costumes, etc. can all be found for sale featuring Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs, and even merchandise featuring the Evil Queen can all be found for sale. These characters are also featured in the official Disney theme parks, TV shows as guest appearances, and even in different video games. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs appear in the Disney theme parks as dressed up characters for children to interact with, as well as they have their own ride. The characters can be seen throughout the parks giving out autographs, meeting fans, providing entertainment, or even just walking around as if they were a normal person. For little kids, they get to meet their favorite characters and make their dreams come true in the Disney parks across the world. As for other appearances, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs can sometimes be featured as guests in a TV show called Disney’s House of Mouse, a show that features animated skits of favorite Disney characters that can be likened to an innocent Saturday Night Live. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs also make appearances in a GameBoy color game that shares the same title as the original movie, they also make appearances in the loved franchise Kingdom Hearts in three different games, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts X.
