Snapchat Trend Paper Over 100 million people use Snapchat daily, it has changed the market by creating a view that the internet is not forever and has taken the world by change for the better. Snapchat, which was created in September 2011, is a social media app created by Evan Spiegal that allows you to communicate through short disappearing messages, photos, or videos, either to a select friend or to everyone on your story, (Parker). This is formally the way to Snapchat other people. There is also a feature called discover where you can find all the news you need, just by scrolling through the news stories. As shown below, in the corner of the graph, the red stands for “Answer A”, and the green stands for “Answer B”. Fifteen people answered these five questions unanimously, and out of the five questions, four well support Snapchat. Fourteen of the fifteen teenagers said they had this app on their phone, and out of those fourteen people, ten of them use it one hour or less. These results provide well supported evidence to Snapchat's popularity. Snapchat is expanding and moving past other social media apps fast, out of the fifteen people in the survey, nine of them said Snapchat is their favorite app. Also, this survey shows that two thirds of the fifteen people, think Snapchat is private, which is one of Snapchat's biggest components. In the survey made in the AHS about six of the fifteen people said Snapchat was their favorite app. This runs right with what researcher Rachel Simmons said in the article, What exactly is so great about Snapchat?, “But there are a lot of unique qualities that have attracted me and over 100 million other users to Snapchat,” (Simmons). Both sources provide a well supported backbone to Snapchat's popularity. Also both the survey and Lauren Keatings information are similar in ways. In this survey it shows that ten of the fifteen think this app is private. As well, Lauren Keating said in Here’s Why Snapchat Is Better Than Instagram, “Another reason why Snapchat is better than its rival is because it gives users a sense of privacy,” (Keating). Furthermore, these results add up to show that Snapchat will indeed continue to grow, as it is better and more engaged than other
