Significant Educational Experience

Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced.

I have previously alluded to my involvement in an academy at my highschool called the “Anteater Academy” I capitalized on when approached in my 8th grade year, as it was described to help progress my academics in a set of designed courses throughout my highschool years. I was struggling before I entered highschool, I was not the brightest student and I had been going through some personal matters that had misguided me into believing I was not meant for a higher education. Reflecting on my progression, I am very appreciative on the account of my academic achievement having achieved a 4.0 overall weighted G.P.A all my years, at the moment rank in the top ten percent of my graduating class, and even become the president of the Anteater Academy.

Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?

I had been separated from my significant other after a long term relationship, which caused me to fall into a deep depression. I can’t distinguish between a more challenging factor that affected my academic achievements, they were both hard for me to process with along my strenuous courses. They have interfered with my progression but I have retaliated with support from my teachers to keep me on track and on top of my learning. My counselor and higher-education coordinator have encouraged me to pursue a few scholarships in my area of interest. Emotionally it’s still a weight on my shoulders, however extra support with tutoring and even participating in sports has helped me focus on improving myself and staying healthy, mentally and
