Schools should ban soda and candy because if they sell junk food than many students would become obese, have a high blood pressure, or become diabetic. It can ruin their childhood if they do end up having health issues at such a young age. Schools teach about eating healthy, but if they start selling unhealthy food it would go against everything they taught and would be a life changing experience for many students. Being healthy is the best thing you can be. Schools are supposed to set an example for eating right and taking care of your body. Not only are cavities painful, but they can be quite expensive. Many parents struggle with money so it’s unfair of schools to just give out unhealthy foods to their children and then them having to pay the bills. Also, students will continue buying candies and sodas so the dentist visits would be just once in awhile, they can often become. It is not all of the student's’ fault for buying the candies and sodas, it's also partially the school's fault for even selling in the first place. It will also make the students think that it is okay to just eat unhealthy snacks, since they teach the complete opposite, so they would do it all the time at home as well. They will think that since schools are selling candy and sodas that it won’t do any harm. Also, the sodas can become addicting and they have a high risk of cancer. The students obviously won’t agree at first but it shouldn’t be a discussion for them. Parents would also agree that schools should ban candies and sodas because they also want the best for their child.
