As a teenager we are all looking to be accepted by our peers and will do whatever it is they want us to so we can be accepted. That is to say the feeling of needing to be accepted by ones peers is done consciously; the person starts to do what their friends do without thinking about it. (Teen 3) In fact, teens are more likely to be affected by peer pressure because they are trying to figure out who they are. (How 1) Therefore, they see themselves as how their peers would view them so they change to fit their peer’s expectations. (How 1) Secondly, the feeling of needing to rebel and be someone that isn’t who their parents are trying to make them be affects them. (Teen 2) Thus, parents are relied on less and teens are more likely to go to their peers about their problems and what choices to make. (How 1) Also, their brains are not fully matured and teens are less likely to think through their choices thoroughly before doing it. (Teen 6) Lastly, how a child is treated by his peers can affect how they treat others; this can lead them into bullying others who are different. (Teen 3) Consequently this can affect a teen into doing something good or bad; it depends who you surround yourself with.
This makes kids forget how to socialize with one another and not know how to carry on a conversation. Along with socialization becoming obsolete, technology causes addiction, and the replacement of jobs throughout America. The reasons why technology is impacting society in a negative way is how people are forgetting how to socialize and becoming antisocial, automatics are taking the place of jobs for humans, and the internet is making millions addicted along with more mental health problems.
Unlike old times in which only the eldest obtained the rights and land to curate while the others were just expected to marry well. Every parents’ goal is to get their children to have a better life than what they endured. HOwever, not wanting their children to suffer they spoil and enable their children to the extreme. Thus, children are unprepared for the real world because they had never been exposed to the truth. Parents tend to disregard their children's actions and blame others for their mistakes. For instance, if a child is given a F in class, parents go to the teacher demanding a reason as to why that happened. Versus holding their kid responsible, for they know the rules and requirements that are needed to obtain an A. Parents are forgetting to instill key character traits like discipline and responsibil in order to succeed in life without the help of mommy and daddy. Hence, the generation of teens that complain about everything and are unprepared for a job or college that are essential to them being thriving
Many people walk and don’t even look up anymore. Riding the bus today has become a very silent ride. You have people listening to music, checking emails, statuses, and other social network sites. You can’t even get a simple hello or how are you doing like the old days. Even in classrooms students can’t put away their phones . It’s as if they can’t live without it. Technology industries had developed many devices like computers, laptops, smartphones, iPods, and many other devices that made technology easier to access from anywhere and anytime. Technology expanded every day and the usage increased which had an effect on society especially targeting teens. Teens abused the use of technology that caused them to have serious problems mentally and physically. Teens mainly focused on technology use and caused a social disconnection from the real world. Technology use has a negative effect on teens by causing health problems and social disconnection.
Technology is always advancing. With the birth of new generations, it is being seen that children are easily learning how to adapt and manipulate these technologies to do whatever they want them to do. Take for example cell phones. When cell phones came out in the early 1970s they didn’t have all the different abilities that today’s do. They were just a big, clunky phone that was portable so that one didn’t have to stay in one spot in order to communicate with others. Nowadays cell phones have become smaller, easier to carry, and include nearly any application imaginable essentially turning the once basic cell phone into a portable, miniature computer.
Technology is so easy for the youth to access and there are many things that affect children through the use of technology. Children can misuse technology by accessing inappropriate materials, most kids today have smart phones and are able to access this so easily. Another reason children are affected by technology is that they are never taught how to properly use it, so they begin to think what they are doing is okay, when it is not, at a young age. My generation is more prone to the misuse of technology because they have grown up with it and it has been apart of their childhood. As technology becomes more developed it will be more vibrant in children’s lives and as they grow up it will become more of a part of their childhood. The more it is in a child’s life the more it will become more known. I did not receive a phone until I was 14 and it was not even an IPhone, but today there are children who have IPhones at the age of 8. This affects children because they are becoming more dependant on technology as a young child and they think that it is alright to depend on technology. They are given technology and they do not know how to use it properly nor do they know that it is not okay for them to depend on technology and that they need to depend on their minds to do things not just technology.
