Personally, I have found that listening to music has been very beneficial to my educational experience. It has helped me immensely whilst studying subjects such as Math and English. For instance, last year in my Creative Writing class, we were assigned the task of writing a script for a play. The teacher was reluctant to grant us access to our music, but with promises of good behavior from the students, she eventually capitulated to our requests. Not thinking much about it at the time, I popped in my earbuds, put my playlist on shuffle, and began to write. By the end of the class period, I had come close to completing my task, and when
Music in my life is really has become a positive thing. I get to relax when I am stressed out, or it gets me pumped up before I do something that would be hard for me or that would need a lot of work for me to do. If I am studying, I would listen to music that is calming with lyrics or with a very good beat such as dubstep. When I am really stressed out with school, I like to lie down and listen to alternative music such as Fall Out Boy, Cage the Elephant, or Twenty One Pilots to calm me
“The students at the Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls learn to play the violin from a very young age, and instruction in violin is mandatory at the school. In your opinion, should music be a compulsory part of education? What is your experience with music education over the course of your schooling?”
Music plays a major role in life for most people. It can soothe and excite, encourage sleep and encourage dancing, we can sing to it and ponder it. There are so many different uses of music and so many mediums through which to play it such as Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, etc. Beyond that, more songs every day there are new songs being written. Statistics show that ninety-five percent of all Americans think that music is a core part of a balanced and well-rounded education. The same study showed that ninety-three percent of Americans thought music belonged in the public schooling system, and seventy-nine percent even suggested that music education should be mandatory for all students. Still, studies show that a staggering twenty percent of high school students choose
I am writing this letter to appeal for the inclusion of music in the curriculum. Mr. Minister it is with great concern that I write this letter, as I see the state of our nation today and I believe that the introduction of music education in schools can benefit both the parents and their children. One of the major issues being faced today is that difficulties some children face in their cognitive development. This in turn negatively affects them emotionally, mentally and socially. When children are negatively affected socially, emotionally and mentally they tend to ‘act out’.
Life would be pretty boring without musicians and artists creating such pleasurable music for us. Not everyone in the world plays an instrument, because only selected few have the gift to play and the passion for it. Students should not be required to play an instrument in school because individuality takes place in this situation, certain talents and the required attention needed, of course. Although music can become a big, influential role in someone's life, it's not meant for everyone. Kids should voice their feelings on schools making music programs a requirement.
Another person in support of music classes is Christopher Bergland, who believes that learning music has a great impact on young people’s mental growth. He positions “music training is a valuable investment for a child’s overall brain development and his or her long-term academic and life success. Also, the joy of playing music and the reward of mastering a musical instrument are immeasurable” (Bergland 1). Obviously, these are good things and all schools should want this for their students.
Hearing the sounds of a musical instrument can be very relaxing and stress-free. However, that doesn't mean we have to study the instrument and be forced to play it. Student's shouldn't be required to play an instrument in school, because its unnecessary, requires a lot of work, and can be extremely stressful, which is why students shouldn't be required to play. Many students in the modern day complain about their classes in school and how they specifically didn't want or need a music class. This can be the evidence in which students may not have a choice of what they think is best for them, or what's not.
So far the study has shown that students enjoy music, It allows for the free expression of what a scholar is feeling on the inside. feelings on the Oakes 7 inside are then voiced and heard through the music that is created. That is what is allowed to take place in the music classes at schools that have them. It has also been stated that Students think music should be required in schools because it is believed other students should experience this feeling as well. Not only does music make school enjoyable but studies have shown that it also increases the IQ of students overtime.
First off all students will get better grades. Because Studies show that when students listen to music they are more likely to get better grades. clearly , students that listen to music get a better education, and grades.next students that listen to music during school hours will go further, and do more than is expected on a assignment, project etcetera. like most schools that allow music such as my old school, and their I observed that students did more quality work. Obviously there is better and more quality work getting done at other schools due to the ability of listening to music .Finally, students that listen to music during school hours go far in life , and get a good education.
Additionally, music programs can benefit the education of us who play an instrument. In addition, it’s proven that music goes through your head and can help you to become more creative, use reason, and think about your actions. It isn’t limited to actions, that music helps you think through it’s also school work or paperwork
As the years have gone by the music programs at schools all across the country have began to go extinct. When I was in middles school i was forced to play an instrument and i disliked every bit of it. So I believe students should not be required to play an instrument in school. For these reasons kids should focus more on schoolwork, the program is costly, and students & parents should have a choice on whether they want to play an instrument or not.
Imagine the day when you see your child’s report card, and all you see are As, and you are speechlessly staring at your child’s grades. Are you still waiting for that moment to come when you will be proud of your child for getting good grades? Have you ever wondered why your child has not been able to do well at school? It is possibly because your child has not been exposed to listening to music while studying. Listening to musiccould be the golden solution for your child. Students definitely need to be granted the freedom to listen music during classes. Listening to music while studying helps to keep one’s mind relaxed. It also helps in finishing work faster and in memorization.

...as a reader might with a book. That being said, music does provide benefits such as entertainment, and relaxation, however, from an academic point of view, music distracts students and influences their grades by limiting their academic potential. The influence of books and music on today’s society is undeniably significant. It plays an immense role in what the values of a society is, and expands the imagination of people of all ages. Such examples are that fantasy novels inspire people to think big while music acts as a way of expressing oneself through lyrics and beats. Other forms of media such as the internet, television, and radio have been effective in spreading books and music of different authors and singers. They will continue to be effective as more and more applications and programs are created everyday for the sole purpose of distributing these materials.
