Should College Students Be Allowed To Carry Firearms On Campuses?

The Senate recently passed a Bill whether to allow college students to carry concealed weapons on community college campuses and universities; the author of the Bill, Senator Brian Birdwell, stated a concern of the student’s safety while learning, exploring, and/or living on campus. Although it is stated in the second amendment that, “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”. Meaning every human being in the United States have a right to carry a licensed concealed weapon for their own protection and security. I am not saying that they would not know how to use it, but to use it for the reasons besides their safety. An average of 52% of college students commit suicide with a firearm in the society today. If you allow college students to carry weapons on campus you will increase the percentage of suicide for any stress driven or emotional college student.
Even though I strongly disagree with allowing college students to carry firearms on campus there is one benefit as to why you should carry firearms. For Example, if you are being robbed while walking at night on your very own campus you could use the firearm for you own means of protection.
I have been on a total of ten college campuses all who have stated that they have campus security, escorts, and many other facilities and programs such as Crisis Hotline and self-defense classes that ensures the safety of students, so why should we put in the matters of the very weapon that is destroying this society every day.

All in all, I believe that college students should not be allowed to carry firearms on campus because it can increase the issues that we have with the carrying of firearms in society today. If we cannot resolve the issue of gun laws in the United States right now; why add more issues onto the plate by allowing college students to carry guns on
