How would you feel if you were taken away from your family, only to be forced to fight? How would you feel if you were forced to kill others? Would you accept if this was your only access to food, money, and shelter? This is often what child soldiers go through. I believe that child soldiers should be granted amnesty because they are forced to join, they are given drugs, making it hard for them to quit, and because of rehabilitation. Those who are forcibly recruited are forced to fight and they get taken away from their families. Those who joined willingly probably didn’t join because they want to, but because they wanted to escape hunger and poverty. When they are forced to join, they have to follow orders, and in some cases if you don’t do what you’re told to do, you get killed. Also because they have been taking drugs and alcohol and they’ve now become addicted, maybe they don’t have those things elsewhere, so they need to stay because they might not be able to function properly without the drugs. With everything going on around them, such as killing, it could scar them mentally for a really, really long time. With that being said, it can be hard for them to develop friendships and it can be hard to socialize. Many kids are involved around the world in violent wars as child soldiers. These children who were forced into being soldiers had no other choice but to face their own death and therefore should be granted amnesty. This is because the great majority of the kids were forced into being war fighters. Even then, some people think that just because they’re kids doesn’t change the fact that they have performed horrible acts, and that they should be punished for their actions. Also, these kids were forced to take drugs and drink alcohol which influenced bad decisions and made them less thoughtful about the harm they were doing. So, child soldiers should get another chance and be granted amnesty after proven worthy.
Children have been used as soldiers in many events, however two that stand out are the use of child soldiers in the Sierra Leone civil war and the drug cartels in Mexico. Most people agree that forcing children to be soldiers is wrong and not humane. The people that make them soldiers transform them into belligerent beings by force. Child soldier is a worldwide issue, but it became most critical in the Africa. Child soldiers are any children under the age of 18 who are recruited by some rebel groups and used as fighters, cooks, messengers, human shields and suicide bombers, some of them even under the age of 10 when they are forced to serve. Physically vulnerable and easily intimidated, children typically become obedient soldiers. Most of them are abducted or recruited by force, and often compelled to follow orders under threat of death. As society breaks down during conflict, leaving children with no access to school, driving them from their homes, or separating them from family members, many children feel that rebel groups are their best chance for survival.
Child soldiers are a prevalent issue in the international community and must be stopped. Whether kidnapped, enslaved, or volunteered: child soldiers are a clear violation of human rights. The United Nations are actively working to eradicate the issue by creating programs such as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) which is a treaty that contains three Optional Protocols, the first of which is aimed at protecting children’s rights.

Children under 18 years old are being recruited into the army because of poverty issues, multiple economic problems, and the qualities of children, however, many organizations are trying to implement ways to stop the human rights violation.
These are the words of a 15-year-old girl in Uganda. Like her, there are an estimated 300,000 children under the age of eighteen who are serving as child soldiers in about thirty-six conflict zones (Shaikh). Life on the front lines often brings children face to face with the horrors of war. Too many children have personally experienced or witnessed physical violence, including executions, death squad killings, disappearances, torture, arrest, sexual abuse, bombings, forced displacement, destruction of home, and massacres. Over the past ten years, more than two million children have been killed, five million disabled, twelve million left homeless, one million orphaned or separated from their parents, and ten million psychologically traumatized (Unicef, “Children in War”). They have been robbed of their childhood and forced to become part of unwanted conflicts. In African countries, such as Chad, this problem is increasingly becoming a global issue that needs to be solved immediately. However, there are other countries, such as Sierra Leone, where the problem has been effectively resolved. Although the use of child soldiers will never completely diminish, it has been proven in Sierra Leone that Unicef's disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration program will lessen the amount of child soldiers in Chad and prevent their use in the future.
One of the major problems in the Middle East is child related. To be specific, child soldiers. It is estimated that there are over 38,000 kids who are forced into being child soldiers (Storr). Because child soldiers can’t prevent their horrific fate, they deserve to be granted amnesty by the United Nations. One main reason why they should be given amnesty is because they are forced and drugged into becoming killers.

Some people might not agree with me but i have several reasons that support my claim because it’s not there fault they are either drugged or they are bribed by food or they are traumatized also they might have killed their family so they have no other choice but to become a child soldier sometimes they also give them false promises and how would they know that they are liening to them but later on they find out they were lied to but they can’t do nothing about it anymore so they just have to stay a child soldier forever until they get old or get killed and then they search for more child soldiers.
Did you know there are kids out there as young as nine, being abused and drugged to the point where they are told to hate on americans and kill people in war? This is a daily routine for any child soldier all around the world. These children are taken in at a young age and are put into war as an unofficial soldier. These kids are treated so terrible by their commanders and fellow soldiers that they can become a threat to society. When they’re finally freed from being a soldier, many are put on trial for whether they should receive amnesty for their crimes or not. In this case, child soldiers should be given amnesty for their crimes since they were forced into the war, drugged, and abused.
War commanders can purposely get their child soldiers in trouble because they know that they will be given amnesty. Finally, people say that they shouldn’t get amnesty because child soldiers are no different than child criminals. I don’t agree with this and neither does the author in the article “Child Soldiers: Victims or Perpetrators” where it says “children are forced by commanders through false promises, drugs and things which you can’t even imagine” This says that kids are drugged to make sure that they don’t know what’s happening and are made promises that never come true in order for them to join the
