Should There Be Restrictions for Underage Body Art? It’s true that most adolescents are unaware of the potential health risk that tattoos and piercings have. Shouldn’t it be the parents’ job to educate them or should it be completely illegal. Percent’s do show that it’s harder to obtain a job with certain body art, but if it becomes more popular could that change? Personally I believe that it should be legal with consent of a parent/guardian because it’s the Childs’ body and should be there decision. We should make sure in America the child and parents are educated as well before they make a wrong decision. There are reasons why some people are completely against the idea at all. I know I would have been, my parent let me make my own decision and let me do it the way I wanted to. As a parent myself to see how happy my child would be for letting him/her do something they wanted to do so badly but came to me and got my permission I would feel that they trusted me and glad to know they felt comfortable coming to me. Giving that statement if they could trust me, I shouldn’t hold them back from something they wanted to do just because the what if’s. The issue about people thinking Ohio law is too strict or too lenient is obscured. Ohio lets its people make their own decision and that’s perfectly fine considering America is supposed to be the land of free choice anyway. Would you want your child to go behind your back? If a child is told no they are more obligated to go behind everyone’s back and do it anyway. But if it’s just free and they are given a choice I see tattoo and piercings do decreasing in the future. If not I could see jobs and schools accepting more and more people with body arts because it will be hard to find someone without
