Turn Down The Volume I Can’t See “Sound of Thunder” is a short story written by Ray Bradbury and read by Miss Windish’s creative comp. class. Five men went back in time to hunt dinosaurs. Only two of the men were tour guides, the others were the hunters. One strict rule was to stay on the path at all times. The men agreed and did as told until one man, Eckles, accidently stepped outside the path. The men were upset and rightfully so. When the men got back to there time zone something had changed but not for the greater good. How could a tiny change in history change something so little yet so important. One theory is that the dinosaurs died in a fiery explosion. If this statement is true, the surrounding organisms would also die off. Including the bit of grass Eckles stepped on. If the author mentioned a way they died without the nature around them dying the change in history would be more believable. The purpose for writing this story other than entertaining others is to try to change history. Even if going back in time was possible changing history would change the future and not always for the best. In the story stepping on a blade of grass changed an election and spelling of words. Image if Germany won World War One, life would be so much different than how it is now. No one can ever know for sure on if travel through time is possible, but if so, watching an event would be alright. Interfering and killed something deems as a bad idea. In conclusion, time is not something to mess with. You will never know the outcome whether is happened in the past or not. Trying to make the world a better place is always a good thing but if you were to ever try to change the history it would never work on how you want it. Also, add information that could explain something even the tiniest bit. If you know why something happened it adds that much more to a
