The New England Patriots were crowned champions of the Super Bowl in 2017. One of their key players is Wyckoff’s own, Chris Hogan. Chris Hogan was an Eisenhower graduate in 2003. He played football and lacrosse at Ramapo High School. Though it may seem like he had it all, Hogan took an unusual route to the NFL. Hogan was a relatively unknown part of the Patriots offense, but was important in their playoff run, playing alongside veterans Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Malcolm Butler under legendary coach Bill Belichick. Hogans route started when he graduated highschool at Ramapo. He immediately went to Penn State and started his college studies. His first love in college was lacrosse. He was playing for Penn State as a midfielder. Hogan played …show more content…
He transferred to Monmouth, and after a brief pause, restarted his football playing career. Though he was a senior, he still had NCAA athletic eligibility due to his ankle injury in his sophomore year. He was immediately making an impact for the team. He started as a receiver, but was moved to cornerback because of injuries on the team. Hogan finished the season with 12 receptions for 147 yards, 3 touchdowns, 28 tackles, and 3 interceptions. Though his performances raised some eyebrows, he was not invited the NFL combine. Hogan is a freak athlete though. As other NFL prospects performed in front at the NFL combine, with more media attention and scouts, Hogan worked out at Fordham's Pro-day in 2011. A pro-day is where scouts at that college or neighboring colleges compete in front of scouts so they can get drafted. Hogan at the pro-day smashed the NFL combine bench press record. The previous record was 23 reps of 225 pounds set by Billy Brown, but Hogan lifted an astonishing 28 reps of 225 pounds, an unofficial record. In the 40 yard dash he put up an astounding time at 4.5 …show more content…
Hogan entered his first ever postseason playing on the field. This was a big opportunity for him, as the Patriots favored to win the AFC and the Super Bowl. In his first ever playoff game, Hogan caught all 4 passes directed at him and gained 95 yards. Then, in the AFC championship game, Hogan put on a show for America. He played very well with a healthy Tom Brady throwing him passes. Hogan caught 9 passes during the game. He also gained 180 yards. This jaw-dropping performance set a record. Hogan set a new NFL record with the most receiving yards in a playoff game by an undrafted player. In the AFC Championship game he was a part of a trick play called the flea flicker. It is where the quarterback takes the snap and hands it off to the running back, after running 5 yards forward he tosses it back to the quarterback and the quarterback throws far down the field to the wide receiver. In this case Tom Brady threw it to Chris Hogan for 44 yards and a touchdown. This was an important play during the
Today I’m here to talk about how Tom Brady is a cheater. On February 1, 2015 super bowl XLIX was played. The game ended with the New England Patriates defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24. The balls used by the Patriates put in Tom Brady’s hands had been deflated prior to the game. The game was played in an over cast and rainy weather forecast. Where deflated balls would be easier to catch/throw.
Ever since that day he has been a quarterback after his dad put him as one, and scored 4

Brett Favre grew up idolizing a pair of Southern quarterbacks, the Saints' Archie Manning and the Cowboys' Staubach. He grew up in Kiln, Mississippi and went to high school in there. His high school, Hancock North Central, honored him this past May by re-naming the field, 'Brett Favre Field,' and unveiling a life-sized statue of the quarterback at the stadium's entrance. The school previously had retired his jersey, Number 10, in 1993. He stayed in the south to go to college where he went to Southern Miss. He became the starter at Southern Miss in his third game of his freshman season. Favre majored in special education. He led his Southern Mississippi team to 29 victories, including two bowl victories, during his four varsity seasons, 1987-90, and climaxed his collegiate career by earning a MVP award in the East-West Shrine game featuring the nation's best seniors. Favre set school records for passing yards (8,193), pass attempts (1,234), completions (656), completion percentage (53.2), touchdowns (55), and with only 35 interceptions. His production included five 300-yard passing games and five 3-TD performances, while his 7,695 regular-season passing yards ranked him among the top 30 of all-time NCAA passers. His 1.57 interception ratio in 1988 was the lowest among the 50 top-ranked passers in the nation, and his 2.9 interception rate for his four-year career also ranks as one of the best in NCAA history. Also he was the MVP of the All-American Bowl at the conclusion of his senior year. All those records and stats and that was only in college!!!
season. He entered his Junior year not having played quarterback for a high school team. But
But with grace they let him have his choice on which high school to attend. Tebow came to national prominence by his junior year. He was known for his throwing and running ability and his intensity of competitiveness. Later that year, he injured his right leg during the first half of the game. He thought it was just cramping so he played the rest of the game including a twenty-nine yard rushing touchdown. It turns out it was a broken fibula and not cramping. After the game when they realized what the actual injury it was, he was held out of the rest of his junior
“I'm a pretty good winner. I'm a terrible loser, and I rub it in pretty good when I win”-Tom Brady (brainyquote.com). Tom Brady is the New England Patriots starting quarterback, and without a doubt he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. In fact without him the Patriots would have never even went to a Super Bowl. Now that the Patriots have the legendary Tom Brady on their team they went to six Super Bowls and even won four. However Tom Brady wasn't always as good as he is now he started from the bottom like everyone else.
Hogan suffered a broken collarbone, broken left ankle, broken right leg, broken pelvis and a few broken ribs. In the weeks after the accident several other complications occurred like blood clots in his lungs, the doctors said he would probably never play competative golf again. Everybody who thinks that Tom Brady isn’t the best Quarterback says that Tom Brady has Bill Belichick and Joe Montana had Jerry Rice. Well to oppose that Jerry Rice can play, and is known to be the best Wide Receiver that ever played in the NFL. Bill Belichick is known to be one of the best coaches that has ever coached, but he can’t play on the field with Tom Brady. Tom Brady was also the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, and was benched his senior year in the Playoffs. In his second season he went into a game when Drew Bledsoe got hit by Mo Lewis one of the Jets’ Linebackers’ and couldn’t come back into the game. In that same season he only threw 8
Growing up I remember my mom turning the music up whenever she heard a good song. The only genre, she listened to was country so I grew up loving country music. I now turn the music up whenever I hear a song Luke Bryan wrote because his music is so good. Growing up Luke Bryan was a normal child, but over the 20 or more years, so many devastating things have happened to his family that are hard for Bryan and his family to get over.
An athlete’s college career is something seldom used when determining the best players at each position to play professional football. To seriously distinguish between whether Manning or Brady is the best quarterback of their generation their college careers must be carefully examined. His father attended Ole Miss, where he is very well known, but Peyton, when making his decision chose to attend the hated University of Tennessee. As a Tennessee Vol, Peyton Manning, not only set records, but also posted astronomical numbers. He won his first start as quarterback, 10-9 against Washington State, and lead the team t...

Then his track coach, George Corner, then started coaching basketball, so he asked Vince to be on the basketball team. Vince said yes and started playing basketball. A few years later when he was in high school, he started playing football, because George Corner started coaching football. He used his speed to blow past the defense when he was offence as a wide receiver. Then he got a scholarship from track, and went to collage. After he got out of college, he played rough touch football.
He served as backup quarterback and barely played at all. The year after quarterback Drew Bledsoe was injured so Tom got to take over. For the games that he played that year he went 11 wins and 3 losses. An in that post-season he led a win over the St. Louis Rams at the Super Bowl and he received the MVP award.
