Have you ever been told that the gentle always pays for the bill after dinner? Well, that is a way of people being sexist and setting certain manners for certain people. Sexism does not set worthy examples for children. It is far too unfair on both sexes. Sexism also sets unrealistic expectations of society. Due to the effects on society, sexism needs to be stopped. Sexism sets the wrong examples for children. A majority of the children's toys are meant for certain genders. Many of the toys influences certain jobs for certain genders. Also, sexism on tv has the women in the kitchen while the men are out working. It is also seen not only on TV, but in real life boys taunting one another about being a girl. They are suggesting that the boy is weak like a girl. Sexism also makes girls and boys think that certain jobs are for certain jobs such as a girl as a nurse, and a boy as an orthodontist. There are so many times when a woman will slap a man and she was just “upset” but if a man does that to a female then he will be labeled as an abuser. Another issue that is unfair is how females are thought to be kind, neat, as well as quiet while boys are independent, active, and speak their minds. Plus females are also thought of as self-absorbed girls that care more about popularity over grades. All the while boys are thought of to take charge such as being class president. While we are on the subject of school there are many young boys who sang forcing people to view their underwear. But if so much as a bra strap on a girl is showing it is a distraction the boy's studies. Girls are also accused of staring scenes, but let us not forget about the World Wars. On the other hand, boys are also obligated to deal with the pressure of society's expectations, such as holding open a door and paying for the meal.
