War widows often turned to work at brothels during the war (Rhoads). To support their family in obtain money, food, and other necessities. In Love: War’s Ally and Foe they state “some soldiers like to give are accustomed to class it as bestial and animalistic without reflecting upon it further” (love). Women will be seen more as objects gather than a person. Their bodies taken not for their pleasure, but for someone else’s no love is shared just a need. The quote “Sex is the driving force of men” that Rhoads states is true. The men choose when they would visit the brothel, who they would have sex with, and how sex would be like the women didn’t decide the men did.
