My initial interest in attending a service academy evolved into a passion while attending Air Academy High School on the Air Force Academy. I have been able to observe the cadets and environment of a service academy first-hand. As my interest grew, I chose to participate in more organizations and activities that would further expose me to what it would be like to serve in the military as an officer. These activities have confirmed that my interests, principles, and goals align perfectly with attending the Air Force Academy. The most influential activity has been Civil Air Patrol, which reinforced my desire to serve in the Air Force as an officer, become a pilot, and continue to develop my leadership skills. One Saturday, Civil Air Patrol was offering glider flights. Amazingly, I was the only cadet who showed up, and therefore spent the whole day airborne. I am currently on an engineering pathway at my high school, and particularly enjoy physics. In researching specific Air Force careers related to engineering, both the development of new concepts and research techniques for highly technical operations, and acquisition management sound interesting. I would enjoy using technical, communication, and leadership skills to help resolve complex engineering challenges and lead projects, in addition to providing analysis of those projects and recommendations to leadership. My ultimate goal is to work in a career field that I am passionate about, and best serves the current needs of the Air Force. I believe that attending the Air Force Academy will provide a unique environment for these goals focused on structure, discipline, and leadership development that will secure my dream of becoming the most effective Air Force officer I can
