Before viewing senior projects during my junior year, I had no idea what a senior project was, let alone what I would do for my project. After much consideration over the summer, I decided that I wanted to write a book of poetry for my senior project. I felt as though writing a book of poetry would be a splendid opportunity for self-reflection and that writing this book would help me improve my poetry-writing skills. My main inspiration for wanting to write a poetry book came from a poetry program that one of my previous high schools hosted. Prior to beginning my project, I first planned out what type of poetry I wanted to write, what the main themes of my poetry would be, and how I would publish my book upon project completion. Beginning
Throughout my senior project I have learned a collection of different things about me. I have learned that I disgust work that I find is unnecessary. If I find the work to be unnecessary I would just shut down and get aggravated. I also realized that I’m the type of person to try to do something, but if I don’t get it I will eventually just give up. I just think the task at hand is not for me. However, I cannot have that type of attitude towards the senior project, because this senior project determines if I will graduate on time. I realize my attitude is my biggest problem when it comes to my work, because it gets in the way of my work. My attitude is my biggest challenge because I refuse to change it and I hate when people talk about my
Operation mangers should also have the same skills as functional manager but they are responsible in managing day to day operations and they should also possess the authority to hire and fire employees.
Reflecting back on all the experiences I have gained in Freshman Seminar, I have discovered many aspects of myself that I wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t for this class. Through all the PCE Projects, reflections, class service project, outing, and group discussions, I have learned valuable information about campus life and the history surrounding Oxford College of Emory University. Due to the experiences aforementioned, I have discovered that I am here at Oxford College of Emory University because I sought a college that had a welcoming small community with caring professors and peers; that would aid me in reaching my goals. Similarly, those people would respect my values (something that is extremely significant to me) and accept me for
Even though poetry is still taught in classes, students will only view it as a required subject. A majority of students do not find poetry interesting just from investigating on their own. However, when they are learning it in a classroom setting with their peers, they may have more enthusiasm about the topic. Yet, after these students learn about the influence that poetry has brought to our society, they are still inclined to explore their own writing style. There is nothing wrong with this, but this proves that poetry has strayed away from its actual literature and the value it
In a team-oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3-5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy-Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part of being a good leader is knowing how important it is to receive the best ideas from each member of their team. We attend group meetings where we discuss any challenges, issues, and problems. At these meetings, we often exchange ideas or brainstorm new ones with each other and come up with the best and most creative team solutions as potential answers to those perceived problems.
Community projects are well known for giving students the opportunity to be able to express them selves and learn new tasks and responsibilities. Although, through out my community project path I found myself finding the right lace to learn and achieve the goals as well as the responsibilities and the role of the experience. Yet, the project wasn’t an easy project because I had to deal with different case mangers and different clients. However, through trying and working on my goals, I was to develop my learning experience in term of making healthy relationship with my clients.
Throughout this group project, I had an opportunity to observe and reflect how my personality traits contributed to and hindered the success of the team. According to the Big Five Model, I identify myself as low on extroversion, moderate on neuroticism as well as openness and high on agreeableness and conscientiousness.
What knowledge and skills are you gaining? Which of these are new and which already existed?
Throughout this term, my fellow classmates and I have had a chance to participate in a group project with two or three of our peers. The general topic was a vivid problem in a industry. Our class had a very wide and diverse sets of topics: from Styrofoam, to industrial hacking, to corruption in an influential international organization like FIFA, and so many more. Our group decided to develop a project named “Outsourcing and the price we pay for brands”. The name itselves is somewhat self-explanatory, however the problem is so much more complicated and interesting. In this paper, many struggles and concerns, of the group and of my my own, will be unfolded as I reflect the progress of this project.
...rks. In a word, the MA experience was considered to be a bridge that combines the student learning with working skills, it would be of great help for my future career.
The thought of community service was a bore to me before I began my volunteer work. I dreaded starting my community service although I knew I had to do it. Where I earned my hours did not even matter to me. I just wanted to get it over with. To my surprise it was not what I expected. Community service was not a painful experience; it was a very enjoyable and beneficial experience.
