The main Character in the book that I read is Mickey Bolitar. He has blue eyes, short brown hair, is six feet four inches and weighs just over two hundred pounds. He acts like a normal highschool kid and he can be very curious sometimes. When he got curious about things in the book he usually got in trouble with the police or with his uncle. Like when he was at the “Bat Lady’s” house he went inside without even knocking on the door and when he was inside, somehow the house caught on fire and burned down. The police came and had arrested him for breaking and entering. That time when he was curious he got in trouble with the police not his uncle. His personality is curious, protective, willing, friendly and nice. He was once very protective of his friend Ema when some of the mean guys of the school said “Hey ema mooo!” When he heard that he was about to explode but Ema gave him a look that said don’t. He interacts nicely with the other characters except with the people he doesn’t like and the people that are mean. Mickey was my favorite character in the book. The main idea of this book is that we are all stronger than we realize. It was developed through the book by all of the times that Mickey and his friends were in trouble with really bad people but pulled through it and kept going. Like when they were inside their school on a friday night after everyone had left. It was about 9:00 p.m. and they were looking in a suspicious locker. They had found drugs and a lot of money in the locker, when they all looked at each other and said “What should we do?” Then two really big guys with guns showed up behind them and said “Give it to us”. So right away Ema rolled into a classroom and called the police and Mickey used his trai... ... middle of paper ... ...onological order. I think that the author wrote the book this way because it was a murder mystery. I think that the events were perfectly written in chronological order . Also the main idea about solving a murder was good but was even better because he added mini adventures that kept the story interesting. The author made the characters relatable to someone my age. The way he went into great detail with the main story and how he let all of the characters have a small spotlight at some point in the story let you kind of get to know each character and feel like you knew them. It helped you understand the friendship between Mickey and his friends. Mickey felt protective because they were all so close which helps you understand why he was willing to do so much to protect them. Those are the reasons why i think that Harlen Coben did this the way he did it.
