School Vision and Mission
According to the vision and mission of Royal College of Curepipe, students should be granted an excellent quality of education, including enhancing their personality in order to become good citizens of tomorrow. The institution needs the collaboration of teachers to build and enhance holistic development in the learners who are aware of their responsibilities, duties and rights, not only towards the country and its population but also, towards the whole world. These objectives are often stated in class so as to remind the students that it is of utmost importance to know and to abide by rules and regulations. In terms of infrastructures and resources, the Royal College of Curepipe has three Physics laboratory which are very spacious and each can easily cater for about forty to fifty students at one time. The laboratories are well furnished with technology equipment such as projectors and laptops which are used by educators. Such resources allow teaching to be more effective as for example, whenever a video is being shown to the class, it captures the attention of students and students get so involved in the class and they want to learn more about it. This enhances communication between students and teachers whereby there is the ‘questioning –answering’ process. The management does not put much pressure on teachers because there already exists a trust relationship between the management and the teachers whereby the teachers are expected to perform well and deliver the content. Concerning the recent results of School Certificate and Higher School Certificate, the teachers were asked to have a look at the latter, and try to devise new ways of teaching which can make students work better in the next examinations and score good grading and ranking nationally and
