This scholarship will allow me to pursue a higher level of education. I made the most of my four years in high school, and receiving this scholarship would allow me to do the same for the next four years. I spent my high school career preparing for the future by maintaining good grades and staying involved in extra-curricular activities. With a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.981 on a 4.0 scale, I spend a lot of time on school work. Being ranked 9th out of 114 students is something I take pride in having accomplished. Grades are incredibly important to me, and I believe it shows. I am constantly looking for ways to challenge myself, so naturally I took all the honors courses offered at my high school. Yearbook is one that is very near and dear to my heart, and over the course of the past two years has received the majority of my attention. I joined during sophomore year, and immediately knew it was something I would continue. My junior year I decided I wanted to be seen as a leader, so I became the editor of the sports section, as well as the right-hand man to the main editor. I spent countless hours reviewing spreads, making improvements to the book, and doing whatever I could to help out my peers. This hard-work only intensified during my senior year as I took on the role of editor. Earning this role is something that I take a lot of pride in, and have learned a multitude of lessons about leadership and organization through. When not working on yearbook, I spend a lot of time with my high school’s F.B.L.A. (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter. As a club officer for the past two years I have worked collaboratively with fellow officers to plan club events, such as our annual run/walk through downtown, and tours of local business. This club is what has lead me to my current path of study, and I am incredibly grateful for the endless opportunities it has given me to increase my leadership skills and learn the importance professionality.
