When I saw the recent job posting for an Office Assistant position at Ichiban Japanese Restaurant, I knew I had to submit my resume. I am an analytical and detail oriented accountant with three years of experience and am ready for my next adventure! I am currently looking for a new opportunity to continue working in the clerical industry and know that my skills would be a great fit for the position as well as the Ichiban Japanese Restaurant’s team.

Another benefit of being the accountant is the fact that it only takes three hours to complete the daily workload. Most of the employees working at the dining facility barely have enough time to complete all of the daily tasks; whereas, the accountant has enough time to complete all daily tasks and more. The accountant can use this slow portion of the shift to maximize personal and professional potential by enrolling in college classes, volunteering for base activities, completing any needed training, or studying for any upcoming promotional tests.
During part three of the CRP, it was required of us to create a MyPlan account and to take several assessments to get an idea of our personality, skills and interests. As a result, MyPlan would provide suggested career paths to choose from starting with the most relevant. When I looked at my career paths that MyPlan suggested, it was no surprise to me to find that accounting was at the top of the list with the second option being an actuary. Some of the personality traits required to be an effective accountant include having a logical and analytical mind, being attentive to detail, and high moral and work ethics. These are traits that I possess and have been able to strengthen over time.

I have always been detail-oriented and focused on accuracy in my work and my college life. I feel that attention to detail and a focus on accuracy will serve me well in accounting. The first site I visited was at lounge/bar in New York City. My sister came down from Connecticut, and she wanted to hang out before she had to go to her medical mission trip to Dominican Republic. Accounting standards and tax laws are constantly changing and the ability to research topics that would affect business clients is invaluable. This experience would provide such skills and enable me to research accounting topics, as well as to work with and meet many professionals within the accounting field which I may not have had the chance to do otherwise. The skills required to be a good accountant are organization, time management, adaptability, communication, and the list goes on and on. These skills would be invaluable as these are very applicable to my future career aspirations, as well as the skills necessary to succeed in this program.
My second goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). I plan to take the CPA exam immediately after my completion of Master’s program.
