Recommended: Definition of marriage in different cultures

Marriage is about love and love knows no race, religion or GENDER! The topic of same sex marriages have been in the headlines for quite a while now. There is no wrong or right side of this issue but there are advocates and adversaries. If a marriage is “supposed” to be about nothing but a partnership between two people that are better together than apart, why exclude homosexuals from being happy? Same sex marriages should not be banned because it is untraditional; but should be recognized like any other marriage involves love and it might be different but we all should be recognized as equals.
For example, some people think that letting homosexual become an official union redefines the idea of marriage all together. (Rauch) Rauch states, “ I think the best definition of marriage is the one that most married people sign up for in their vows; “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, until death do us part.” Extending the boundaries to include gay couples does not weaken that definition-it reinforces it.” The gay community embodies the idea of loving no matter who they are we should not pass judgment on them because they are not the pretty picture of a happy ma and women behind their white picket fence with children. Most Americans often believe that same sex marriages will diminish the value of the marriage itself. Which is a false conclusion based on a bias premise. The only value of marriage that there should be is the unconditional and in this case untraditional love between two people. Not only, do people look down on gay marriage because it is untraditional but because it is different.

Same sex marriages should not be banned because it is untraditional; but should be recognized like any other marriage involves love and it might be different but we all should be recognized as equals. Same sex marriages should be legalized in all states because everyone has different views on the topic, but happiness makes the world go around amongst other things and no one should be deprived of their happiness no matter their sexual preferences.
