Emeasoba George once stated that "Sacrifice is meant to be the bedrock of every true love or relationship. Any love or relationship that lacks sacrifice from both parties or partners is not a true love or a relationship and will never last perpetually." As we overlooked at the real-life example, where we see many partners or love one's failure to fulfill their relationship expectation due to lacks sacrificing. A similar case was upheld in the story "Hill Like White Elephant" written by Ernest Hemingway's. In the story, it portrays how the unhealthy relationship, social issues, and the responsibility influences the affairs of the two individual’s life that leads to the negative effect of their bonding.

He believes that the having a baby could change his lifestyle and put him on bigger responsibilities. The American guy states, "That's the only thing that bothers us. It's the only thing that's made us unhappy." From his dialogue, it’s clear that the American man is unwilling to take the responsibility despite his girlfriend decision. His character seems such a selfish while having the conversation with the woman. The man was acting like he doesn't want the woman to do the abortions but from his inner side, he was not happy with the woman discussion as she is not willing to do the abortion and want to give a birth. His words and expression say it all that the man was not happy and will not be able to carry the responsibility if the woman would have given birth.
In conclusion, the story “Hills Like White Elephant” was one of the best story comparing to other. The author Ernest Hemingway’s shows a great example to the audience by ending the story without the characters final discussion. The author seems to have a useful thought about the story and give the reader a lesson for the future life ahead. Ernest Hemingway’s shows that the conflict could happen in every relationship. However, those who understand and sacrifice their happiness or soreness with each other is the true way to build up the relationship strong
