Executive summary

This task provides a proper evaluation and analysis of pick n pay and their corporate social responsibility and their CSR programs that they have to better the community. Firstly we will be brainstorming some socio-economic issues that occur in South Africa that might have a negative impact on pick n pay a one of South Africa’s top retailers; we will also analyse and evaluate poverty in South Africa and how it could affect it. Then we get to analysing pick n pay and discuss their CSR strategies and all the projects that are involved with CSR, therefore we will also outline the major CSR issue that will be evident in the company and do a SWOT analysis of the project. To do all of this we will have to understand what sustainability is we will have to discuss what it is and how is it related to these projects. We will need to need to look at professionalism and ethics as well in a business context and how it relates to the CSR programmes.
Basically in short we will be looking at Pick n pay and analyse their CSR programs

Pick n Pay does cooperate with the trade unions as well as CCMA in order for them to run a professional business. We can see that Pick n Pay bring professionalism as well as ethics into the business environment that they work in as well as the CSR programmes as they need to have a positive attitude towards this which they do have as they can see it will in long term perspective benefit the community and the economy , we can see the good and gracious character that also come to show when looking at the CSR programmes as one can see that they are trying to make a difference in the upliftment of our communities by implementing their CSR programmes which show that they do bring professionalism as well as ethics into their CSR programmes
