The movie, Rushmore, was directed by Wes Anderson about a teenage boy Max Fischer, who is obsessive and controlling in order to get whatever he wants. Due to his narcissistic personality, he only has a few friends and his relationship with them are uneasy. The film mainly takes place around a school since Max practically lives on campus. This movie is both a comedy and a drama where they over exaggerate Max's attitude. By doing so they then make his issues humorous but also keeps the audience on their toes as Max and his friend fall in love and fight over the same girl. In the beginning scenes Max's only friend is Dirk, who is a few years younger than him and therefore somewhat becomes his little sidekick. Dirk widely supported max in whatever he did, such as helping Max through all his extra curricular activities that consisted of long devoted hours of work. In the opening scene, all the students at Rushmore were at a chapel listening to Mr. Blume give a speech. Max was quite enthusiastic with his speech and after the sermon he catched up with Mr.Blume and introduced himself. His plays he produces and sneaking around with Cross all remains on school grounds and is also where everyone comes together towards the end of the movie. Max strongly believed that he was meant for Rushmore and would do anything for his school but that just gets him into trouble. In the beginning of the film it shows the number of all the clubs he was involved in and all the projects he had created at the school. It was until he met Cross and got himself into trouble. That trouble is what eventually got him kicked out of Rushmore and attending a regular public school.
