Many people go to schools and don't worry about black or white people around the schools and everyone gets along and are in the same class . Everyone cares for each other and play sports together too . But a long time ago they cared what your skin color was and would not let blacks or whites go to the same school . But a girl changed our world by letting blacks into all white schools and her name was Ruby Bridges . She helped blacks and whites go to the same school it was not as easy as you think just because the color of her skin there have been a lot of problems like for example protesting that had been a problem for when she went to school Ruby Bridges was born on Sept 8 , 1954 , and lived in Tylertown , Mississippi and moved to New Orleans , Louisiana when she was 4 years old . her parents were Abon and Lucille Bridges . Ruby’s dad worked at a gas station and her mom went to different jobs to get money . Ruby had 2 brothers and a sister there names were Micheal, Joana, and Malcom . Ruby started at an all black kindergarten until she went to the all white school called Wiliam Frantz public school . A civil rights group called the National Association for the Advancement of colored people (NAACP) was working to integrate New Orleans’s schools. …show more content…

parents pulled kids out of schools and the kids that stayed could not look or see Ruby because the principal hid the kids and would not let them play with her at recess . That means the playground was empty . just think what would it be like if there was no one on the playground it would be terrible for me. if there was no one on the playground to play with me. Ruby didn’t just go to that school because the group asked her she wanted to help African Americans get along with white people and to get better
