How does religion push people? How does it give people hope? Is there an extent to it? Elie Wiesel’s book Night he showed how through his experience on how tragedy can shape your faith in religion. While in Auschwitz his faith was beyond tested,it was stretched,lost then found. Elie uses faith in Night to show how it is key to survival whether it’s in god or other people. When Eliezer still had faith he prayed,even in the ghetto. Every night he ran to the synagogue and weeped over the fallen temple. He always cried when he prayed. That Eliezer had faith in everything. At the time he had lost his faith, he still believed there was a god but he was angry with him and had no faith in him. You can tell this by the quote “Why,why should I bless him?... Because he caused thousands of children to burn? Because he kept six crematoriums to burn all day and night including holidays?...Because we watched our fathers be tortured?” After seeing all of that I do not blame Eliezer for losing faith,a lot of people did during that time. He no longer had faith in god so the reason he was living was for his father. And the reason his father lived was for his son,Eliezer. Their faith in each other kept them going until the end. They kept each other alive for a reason not only because of love but because they had faith in each other and gave each other a reason to live.While marching to their barracks for the first time Elie wrote in his book,”My hand tightened its grip on my father.
