Imperialism is the extension of a nation's power over another land. There was a time period where it focused on imperialism. The period of this time was 1800 through 1914. Also, some regions of the world were involved during this time. Japan and Africa were even involved during this time.

Japan was involved a lot for many things during this time. Japan practiced isolationism for about 200 years. Which meant they didn’t trade or let anyone in the country. But they allowed the Dutch and the Chinese to trade with them. The US comes along with ships “insisting” to trade with them.
