This article is about Meg Whitman and how she was brought in to Hewlett Packard (HP) as a new chief executive officer (CEO) to help HP regain their competitiveness in the market. Ms. Whitman immediately finds conflict and a hostile environment due to pass CEOs leadership within the company. Ms. Whitman uses her gained experience of 10 years to turn the company around.

First and foremost, Ms. Meg Whitman is a 10 year veteran of eBay and is attempting to bring Hp back to life a get them back on top of their competitors. Ms. Whitman was not well received and was treated as an outsider by the executives. Many employees new she was brought in as a new CEO formally employed by eBay and saw her as a threat to themselves because many of them wanted her position. Ms. Whitman witness conflicts and hostility amongst employees and also received some herself when attempting view different departments. Ms. Whitman avoids getting involved in others emotions and handles problems in unemotional manner with cool and calm behavior. Being rational, calculating, and factual also helps Meg complete her task as a new CEO to the company. Crossed transactions came from executives competing to take the new CEO position and losing it to Whitman, executives became outright hostile to the new CEO. This kind of conflict internally among team members is unacceptable. The lack of respect for the new CEO should never be accepted in the business world.
