King uses pathos as the main rhetorical strategy in this chapter, this sets the mood for entire book and plays on our emotions from the very beginning. He does this by telling us two, “Creation stories,” one that is a traditional native story and another that is a well known biblical story. King plays on our emotions by telling us two stories in a way almost as if we are children, he mainly focuses on telling the native story, but merely skims over the biblical story.
