In the speech "I Have a Dream" by Martin Luther King Jr, Martin shows the unbalanced relationship between blacks and whites as unfair through his use of logical reasoning to build his credibility. Martin explains the disconnect between the two races as a situation that is long over due and needs to be changed. He expresses his frustration towards the amount of time it has taken when he says, "Five score years ago, [we] signed the Emancipation Proclamation"(2). Martin shows the audience that 100 years ago we signed a document that guranteed citizenship rights for all people. He reveals that it is 100 years later and the document seems to only apply to the white people. To add to this it reveals his disppointment because so much time has passed
