There is no evil angel but Love. -- William Shakespeare, "Love's Labour's Lost | Act 1, Scene 2" In the Shakespearean tale of Romeo and Juliet, the kins of two feuding houses, fall madly in love and proceed to tell but a few loving individuals of their sudden romantic endurance. These individuals could have easily prevented their deaths and given them a chance at a longer life, but they proceeded to craft and aid in these two love struck kids ticket to death. The person that I believe to be mostly responsible for their deaths is the motherly Nurse. The Nurse’s opinion was favored for a time because she agreed with Juliet when it came to Romeo. She loved Juliet and saw her as one of her own, causing Juliet to take the place of the Nurse's daughter Susan, who passed away during infancy. Her actions lead us to believe that she was on Juliet's side, and example being “I must another way,To fetch a ladder by the which your love,-Must climb a bird's nest soon when it's dark. (2.5.77-79)” when she got a ladder for romeo to climb up after tybalt's death on the wedding night. However her opinion wavered “Romeo is banished, and all the world to nothing-That he dares ne'er come back to challenge you,-Or, if he do, it needs must be by stealth. -Then, since the case so stands as now it doth, -I think it best you married with the County. -O, he's a lovely gentleman! -Romeo's a dishclout to him.
