Response To George Washington's Farewell Address

As the first President, George Washington refused to take office for his third term, he wrote the Farewell Address to announce his resignation. In the letter, he had warned and advised us about some of the problems using his past experiences. Some of them are: staying neutral with other nations, being in harmony with the government, and getting involved with political parties. His predictions said that those problems will become very important if left unnoticed, and will affect this young nation negatively and severely.
Clearly expressed in the letter, George Washington believed that staying neutral is very important for the country because it prevents America from having to lose money over war, trade partners, and allies. George Washington had discussed it in the Address: "Observe good faith and justice towards all nations; cultivate peace and harmony with all ...." As mentioned in the previous paragraph, remaining peace with other nations is very important, but that is only half the problem; just as important, remaining harmony within your own country is very vital. As the former President stated: "But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, maybe the instrument of good, it is the ... weapon by which free governments are destroyed." (Paragraph #4) Washington had clearly expressed that if that the government is corrupted, the people should change it through the government's built-in system of checks and balances; allowing it be fixed through an amendment, and not through violent protests. These protests seem very speciously effective, but they will actually force the government to put through some unfounded solution that hasn't been thought through, which can sometimes, creates even more
