Robert Frost- Mending wall
Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874, in San Francisco, California (Robert Frost-Biography). Frost published the poem mending wall at the age of 40 in the year 1914. Frost lived a very tragic life losing all his children throughout his lifetime, he had five children in total. This dark tone can be seen in some of his poems. However Frost was somehow able to stay up despite all the obstacles he was encountering and began his journey into teaching in the United States. He taught at very prestigious universities like Harvard and Dartmouth and was able to show his students his way. He earned the right to serve as “ US Poet Laureate” during the years of 1958 to 1959. That is due to the reason that he has many writing styles and picking one just wouldn’t do justice to his literature beauty. He used everyday words, but was able to enhance them using meter and rhythm. The era in which this poem was written is the modernism era. The era certainly had impact on Frost’s poems, considering he would write about many different problems that he would encounter, but of course he made this stories with rhythmic schemes.
