1. Introduction
The subjective well-being of university students often get influenced in a negative manner when they experience challenging financial situations such as getting stressed over getting registered, affording to pay for their books & food, and just maintaining themselves in a form of having pocket money and everyday clothing. In this assignment we are going to discuss different aspects we are going to use in conducting a research proposal to gather data about the above topic discussed. We are going to discuss the research methodology to be used, sampling strategy to be applied, data collection method and the possible ethical problems that could arise.
2. Research Methodology
The above proposed topic will follow a qualitative method in order to explore and describe the manner in which the challenging financial situation influences the subjective well-being of university students.
According to Sarantakos (2005;37) qualitative method adopts a subjective perception of reality and employs a naturalistic type of inquiry, so as this is the case, I best believe that this methodology its best suitable for this study because the answers we require from our participants are constructive and discussable, something that the participants will be able to express as their own views, expressions, and experiences, instead of just limiting them by just giving them “yes” and “no” options for them to answer.
3. Sampling strategy
Maree (2007; 172) explains that when gathering data, making use of samples is an easy and convenient way to get general findings about the population you are using for your study because in reality it is usually impossible to include the entire population in your study as the most two restrictions being time and c...

...espond inappropriately. De Vos (2011:125) explains that the careful attention paid to the cooperation and assistance of others is very important in order to make sure that each project is conducted in an ethically correct manner, as this is the case failure of cooperation from the participants will result in yet another ethical problem we might have to face.
5.3 What would be done to address the above mentioned ethical problems?
When encountering the above mentioned ethical problems, the approach that will be applied in order to address them will be for me (the researcher) at the end of this research to compile a report for this study which I have conducted in order to avoid fabrication or falsification of data as this is a very serious issue (De Vos, 2011:126), and also to provide with video tapes or recordings as a proof of the research being conducted.
