Life of Religion
Christianity is the teaching of Jesus Christ. This religion was found when Jesus got his first disciples. Christianity started out in Palestine as a fellowship, then it relocated in Greece. It then moved to Italy. It later moved to Europe and became a culture; and then came to America. Christianity is one of the largest growing religion with over 2.4 billion followers. “Christianity has many different branches and forms with accompanying variety in beliefs and practices.” - Patheos
For Christians, the goal is to be saved. Everyone wants eternal life. To have eternal life you have to obey the law and help those who are in need. Being a Christian means you believe

Roman people were killing Christians because they practice a different religion to it became their official state religion over a 60-year span. Benedict wrote books that became influential. They were called the Benedictines and these books became a major reason of how Christianity spread across Western Europe. Even though Christianity is violent, I still wouldn’t trade up my religion for the world. This religion is the only religion I know and I would definitely raise my kids with this religion. I remember in school when we learned about Jesus we also learned about Mother Mary a.k.a Jesus’s …show more content…
‘Islam’ means submission and everyone must submit to Allah. “Allah is viewed as the sole God—creator, sustainer, and restorer of the world. The will of Allah, to which human beings must submit, is made known through the sacred scriptures, the Qurʾān”. - Britannica. Muhammad founded Islam in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Muhammad had six children. Four girls and two boys but his two sons died leaving him with no one to take his place when he died. The Qur’an contains sacred writings that are the primary for the practice of Islam. The Hadiths are the writings of Muhammad’s earliest followers, and there are 3,000 total Hadiths. A lot of people don’t give the Hadiths authority in the practice of Islam because there was a lot of controversy over the stuff that was going to be written in them and the simple fact that there were 3,000 of them. People believed that God had the angel Gabriel carry black meteorite from heaven as a gift. The meteorite was encased in a silver cube called the Kabah because a lot of people would touch and kiss it and it started to deform the appearance of the meteorite. This is located in Mecca because Mecca was already considered a pilgrimage. Muhammad would have his revelation at the age of 40 saying “only Allah should be worshiped.” This would cause tension to build in Mecca between Muhammad’s followers, locals, Muhammad, his family, and his followers would then move to Medina because persecution
When Muhammad was born in 570 CE in Makkah, his mother sent him as an orphan to live with a nomad family. As he grew up, he took on many important duties and made many trading journeys outside the Arabian Desert. Later, he began managing trading caravans for a widow named Khadijah. Khadijah was impressed with Muhammad’s abilities, so she proposed to him and they got married and had several children.
Through the close study of two of the aspects shown in the diagram, their contributions allow Christianity to be considered a living religious tradition. The significant contributions of Pope John XXIII, during both his papal and Pre-papal life have had everlasting effects on not only Catholicism, but Christianity as a whole and lead to the sense of Christianity being a living religious tradition. His works include two Papal encyclicals, Mater et Magistra and Pacem in Terris, along with his work being Apostolic Delegate of Greece and Turkey. Moreover, The significant practice of Baptism has further contributed to Christian being considered a living religious tradition as it accounts for the premise of most Christian beliefs to be initiated, especially in terms of salvation and affirming the beliefs in the trinity and following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
When Muhammad was 40 years old, he was commanded by God, through his angel, Gabriel, to declare his identity to the idolaters and polytheists of the complete world, and to deliver the message of peace to an embattled humanity. In response to the current command of heaven, Muhammad launched the significant program known as Islam which was to change the destiny of mankind forever.
Muslims believe Muhammed to be the last prophet, told by God in the early 600s to spread Islam. Starting from his small hometown in Mecca, Muhammed eventually succeeded in popularizing Islam throughout the whole Arabian Peninsula. Muslims believe that he was chosen by God because he represented the simple traditional values of life that all humans should follow. Muhammed was a persuasive religious leader because of his family, his beliefs of equality with women, and his relationship with God.
According to a Christian, there is one true God, and he revealed Himself through the Holy trinity, which is made up of three people; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They also believe that God alone created the world and everything that encompasses it from nothing in six days. They believe that the world was good until Adam sinned against God, and now all people are born into sin. They believe that God sent his only son Jesus to save the world from sin and that Jesus died for all their sins and rose from the dead. They believe that the Holy bible is the sacred word before and after Jesus’s time and that they should live by it to please God and thank him for his son. They believe that people are saved by faith through the grace of Jesus Christ.
The broadest definition of Christianity is also perhaps the simplest. Across the history and branches of the religion, “it is faith in Christ, not the scrupulous and religious keeping of the law...which is the basis of salvation” (McGrath 15). The religion that is now a major global force has grown out of a small group tucked away in one corner of the world, breaking and changing over time, yet united by a faith in this revolutionary man who claimed to be the son of God, Jesus Christ.
Islam is a religion that is based on the submission oneself to the will of God, who is called Allah. Muslims are the people believe in that, regardless of their culture, background or ethnicity. It is believed that God’s prophets brought a message for the people to worship one God without intermediaries and that prophet Muhammad was the end of G...
The origin of Christianity was from Jesus Christ, they believe that he was the Son of God and he rose from the dead. His disciples spread Christianity through out the entire Roman Empire in 30 CE. The Roman Emperor Constantinople issued the famous Edict of Milan, and he declared Christianity to be a legal religion. Christianity was not yet the official religion until 380 under Emperor Theodosius. Christianity is a religion built on the life and words of Jesus of Nazareth also known as Jesus Christ. Christianity emerged from Judaism. It is founded on teachings, life, and death of Jesus Christ, and those who follow Jesus Christ are called "Christians. Christians believe that there is only one God, who they call father. Christians recognize Jesus as the Son of God who was sent to save mankind from being sinful. Christians believe in justification by faith, that through believing in Jesus, and in his death and resurrection, Christians can h...
the individual that makes that decision. Islam can literally be translated to mean submission to God and is derived from the root word meaning peace. One should always remember to go to the true source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam from what is portrayed in the media. Many consider Islam an exotic religion or even too extreme for the modern world. But this is because religion does not dominate everyday life in the West, where as, Islam is considered a way of life for many Muslims who are from the teachings of the Quran have learned to balance their material and spiritual life.
The religion of Islam dates back to the 7th century CE and the life of its founder, Muhammad of Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. Islam is an Arabic word meaning: making something safe and secure, making something sound and whole, entering into peace and tranquility, and surrendering to something other than oneself. A follower of Islam is called a Muslim. In the religion of Islam, it requires the belief in certain core tenets, which include the articles of faith and the five pillars of worship. These two combined, form the Islamic creed.
Christianity is the world’s most prominent religion, with more than six billion people practicing worldwide. Although Christianity has come to dominate the world of religion, it began as a small and mysterious cult in Ancient Rome. Small, and poorly understood, Christianity soon became an enemy of Rome, marked with persecution, martyrdom, and murder. By the end of the third century CE, tens of thousands of Christians had been arrested and killed for their beliefs.
Ideally, according to the Christian view, Christianity is to believe in Jesus even when he is not visible. In other words, Christians walk by faith and not by sight. Furthermore, Christianity involves consistency of morality which entails features that requires people to be honest and truthful in all areas in life. Overall, the emergence of Christianity was concerned with a spiritual, not earthly kingdom.
Mohammad‘s monotheistic views attracted few followers because they were unlike any of the religion at the time and attacked idolatry. Mohammad was very open in his teachings and allowed anybody to follow him, unlike the territorial tribal clans. In addition, his preaching that there was only one great God attacked traditional idolatry and threatened Mecca’s prosperity as a religious center because it housed the various gods. These new ways were regarded with such disgust that Muhammad had to flee his native city. To the clans, a sense of belonging to a certain group and polytheism was so important that they did not welcome Muhammad’s new religion.
This word originated in Arabia where this whole culture developed (BBC “Islam”). Islam followers, or Muslims, were introduced to their culture by the Prophet Muhammad (BBC “Islam”). The word Islam comes up very often, but who knows what it means? It is said to be the “submission to the will of God (BBC “Islam”).” The majority of the U.S. population today see Muslims as bad people only because a certain group attacked the United States.
