(7) VALIDITY AND RELAIBILITY
Validity and relaiability are concepts that assist to check how accurate and sound a research instrument is in the course of carrying out a study . This involves checking to ensure it is free of potential or actual distortion and bias . Types of reliability include: inter-rater reliability, parallel forms reliability,internal consistency and test-retest reliability.
Reliability is the consistency and accuracy by which an instrument is measuring a particular construct. When a study is done a subsequent time, is it capable of yielding similar results? If it is so,then the data/ records are reliable. Types of reliability include: sampling validity,formative validity, criterion-related and construct validity . An instrument can be reliable but not valid.

3. Constructing the preliminary pool of items.
4. Reviewing of trial/ test items with contemporaries , students and learners; then and there revise as required.
5. Pilot testing of assessment; before reviseing as necessary.
6. Administering and scoreing of assessment; review and revise as necessary
APPLICATION IN MY CURRENT WORK PLACE
Assessment gadgets are generally tested for reliability and validity before usage according to our clinic’s protocol . This is ensure that we get the real values and legitimate readings of the instruments used( thermometers,glucometer etc ) .The instruments are given to experts and well trained personnel to check. In some instances, they likewise apply the test –retest technique in scrutinizing for both the validity and reliability of the instruments in concern .
USEFULNESS OF THIS CONCEPT TO THE CURRENT WORLD
