I was assigned to perform and write about Act IV, Scene II of the tragedy, Macbeth. In this scene, Ross and Lady Macduff converse about her husband, Macduff, leaving Scotland and betraying her and her son. Then, after Ross eventually leaves, she has a motherly conversation with her innocent and very young, yet smart son. This conversation between a mother, Lady Macduff, and her son illustrates how Macduff’s son is wiser beyond his ears as he understands that his father is not dead and, mainly, that the world consists of more traitors and liars who are selfish for their own ambition than honest men who care about honesty, family, and the pure goodness of everyone.
