I am applying for the role of Family Intervention Worker, after working in Families SA residential care for nearly four years, I would like the opportunity to be part of the early intervention process. I believe that early intervention is an important step and providing families with access to services can have an important role in preventing family breakdown.
I have completed 105 units of a Bachelor of Behavioural science (Psychology) degree with only 3 remaining units, I have completed the following topics:
• Cognition and learning
• Human Development
• Counselling
• Case management
• Psychological Assessment
• Psychology of Trauma
• The psychology of Emotions
• Family and professional partnerships
Through the department of Child protection I have completed 12 months training and received a my Certificate IV in Child, Youth and family intervention and have attended various training workshops such …show more content…

As a team we it is vital that we demonstrate clear logical communication. We are required to document all activities and behaviours in a log book this is a legal document it must be accurate. When we are handing over information to the next shift it is important to have the log book up to date ,all appointments in the diary clear and concise a to do list any medications charted a documented ready for the next shift. We rely in communication to ensure all of our vulnerable young peoples need are met and to ensure we are all informed and on the same page in regards to delivering excellent care to our residents. Communicating via e-mail and constant communication to management via the phone is essential as our working conditions can change at any moment.
