Academic integrity has been taken very seriously in the universities worldwide. The student need to use a code of conduct as a part of their study’s framework and plagiarism is one of the essential part of academic integrity and all student must take it seriously. The intention of this paper is to demonstrate an understanding of my views on nursing students can avoid plagiarism by give a reflection on an aspect of individual learning through the activities on “Avoiding plagiarism: guidance for nursing students” article. The unintentional plagiarism might have happened from accidental, unacknowledged about the plagiarism which might come from the university provide inadequate information or do not have the strategy for students to avoid plagiarism. The students have right to appeal or explain during the investigation of academic dishonest. Secondly, I learnt how to use and reference the source material from websites as well as how important is to choose appropriate where I will take information to elaborate my assessment. Moreover, as a student, I have to verify how reliable is the website and how they provide their reference list and author. Thirdly, I have learnt how to paraphrases, and quotes from another people material. As well as the different between primary and secondary sources. Fourthly, I have learnt how to avoid the risk of plagiarism, I realised that my knowledge related to quotation, paraphrasing and summaries have been limited. Therefore direction and guides were necessary to prepare assignments and assessments.
