Reflection On The Writing Process

I’ve chosen to emphasize on the “Writing Process” as the subject for this reflective introduction, using my literacy narrative paper, “Mother Knows Best,” as an example on how significant this learning outcome has been to my growth in this course and as a writer. I chose this learning outcome because as I look back I remember that I had the same thought process with each project that was given to us. After much deliberation, the writing process is an essential part of making a good paper, and will become important to me with future papers in both school and hopefully, my career. Since I signed up for this class I was dreading it because of how much I didn 't like to write papers during high school. In high school, I did a lot of writing for my school newspaper but I wrote news articles which are a bit easier and quicker to write. New articles were very simple because I basically wrote a short paragraph and then I would follow it up with a quote. Now I know I haven 't done very well in writing …show more content…

Going through the complete writing process makes for a very scheduled way of organizing my thoughts. When I was done planning my paper I started drafting by making an outline and now whenever I write something whether it is for a history class or an anthropology class I always make an outline. I start by trying to see what I all need to cover and break those topics into paragraphs with an introduction and closing paragraphs at the beginning and end. This keeps my thoughts more organized and on schedule during the drafting phase of the writing process. Not only have I become more organized I have also learned how to write in a more simple matter and know how to correct little grammatical errors because I went to the writing center where they helped correct those errors in my
