Reflection On Community Development

This project has ignited many plans and visions in me to improve my community development responsibility. I believe our communities are often faced with unprecedented challenges that need solutions; which often lies in the hands of same inhabitant of the community. I believe this class has opened my eyes to see what I can do to join our government in leading our community towards a productive and positive direction.
In our community, we have had to deal with various social problems that has threatened our wellbeing as humans and most especially the children. These issues include peer pressure, crimes, drug related violence, divorce, inadequate employment opportunities, career development programs for our youths, and low level mentoring projects …show more content…

Another new concept to the mentoring that will be eventually added is working with the heroes of these children and seeing the possibility of creating a type of personal connection; another means for the children to see that their career ambition is not an illusion— it’s possible.
Community Transformer, being a new group, has made considerable effort to implement this plans despite many obstacles that is slowing down the progress. Though the team had to deal with personal issues getting in the way of their volunteering effort, but overtime, we made it work. This theory has assisted in re-defining how leaders improve follower’s motivation and ensuring the needed result towards a goal is reached by selecting the right concept for the situation. Ways that path goal theory recommended for leaders to follower’s motivation are directive, supportive, participative, and achievement-oriented. All this term has been carefully administered in the leadership process of our team and it’s actually helping to create a positive results.
