Since reading my first collection of literature, “Vistas in Reading Literature: Gold Level”, I fell in love with the art of writing. Persuasive argumentatives were fun to internally debate with. Informational essays of research opened my eyes of perspective. Philosophy taught me to paint thoughts and reason onto my empty canvas. Religious texts of the Bible enlightened my soul. Oratory put a mirror in front of me to display the reflection of humanism. Literature of the classical fiction genres performed their themes within my empty theater. Especially, prose and poetry. Those two sisters till this day are holding my hand as I walk through these years.

Sometimes I press my back to the wall. Blending with the wallpaper. Posing unseen. Why can’t I be a garden blooming unafraid like the others? Instead I am yards apart acting like the honey bees might swarm. Maybe for a change. I don't want to be the person people ignore. I am like an outsider. I mean nothing. Nothing at all. There is a wall between me and the world. I try to climb it. I try to break it, or even chip at it. I try to stop the essence of this wall from torturing me, but I fail. Don't succeed one bit. Painting, like poetry, selects in the universe whatever she deems most appropriate to her ends. She assembles in a single fantastic personage, circumstances and features which nature distributes among many individuals. From this combination, ingeniously composed, results that happy imitation by virtue of which the artist earns the title of inventor and not of servile copyist. Writing within the language and government of my family in the end brought a decrescendo. Conflict finds its way sometimes, but I just write it all out. In a typical slow moving piece for concert band or orchestra, the final note is performed by gradually getting softer. Ending on a soft yet warm strong note. A big bear hug. In my family. We write our final note. We decrescendo. Together. Tense tension to a strong, soft, yet warm word.
