Red Group Reflection Paper

Our group has worked together pretty well during the entirety of the semester. We are fortunate to have the ability to work well together and compromise, without arguing. The red group is always open for new ideas and ways that we can improve. Emily has definitely been our leader through the whole project, however we all took on different leadership styles. Emily has been a democratic leader from day one, she takes charge but she let’s us do our own thing. She’s done a great job at keeping us on task and focused. I am more like Emily in this way; I am a more democratic leader. If things need to be done, I take initiative and get it done. I usually do more of the group texting, so that I can inform the other members on what’s going on. I think that I am an effective leader, because I do things that better our group and I gets accomplished. Shannon is more of a cross between a democratic and laissez-faire leader. She pretty much goes along with anything, but she takes charge when she needs to. On the other hand, Chad is more on the laissez-faire side, when it comes to leadership. If one of us comes to her with something, she is always encouraging and helpful with her praise. She is also great at gatekeeping, she is always trying to get us all together. She always includes every group member in all of our discussions. She is a large asset to our group. I’m also an encourager, I make an effort to always compliment the work of my group members. In addition to an encourager, I take on the role of being our harmonizer. I try to diffuse any conflict as quickly as possible. If the disagreement is not diminishing, I try to crack a joke to relieve the tension. Shannon is another gate-keeper, she strengthens our group with communication. Chad, Bryson, and Ray serve the role as our compromisers, they are willing to compromise to keep peace within our group. Everyone contributes the group's
