In the fourth stanza of “Recalling War”, the war is over and the war has turn earth to ugly earth and death is seen everywhere. The line also suggest that the soldiers who were living in the earth now went to ugly earth. Here the term ugly earth means that so many people were dead. “War was return of earth to ugly earth, War was foundering of sublimities, Extinction of each happy art and faith”. The war was the main reason submilities, happy art and faith.
