Reason for Hacking
The main reason hackers hack because they have ability to hack. The casual hobby for some hackers is hacking. They test their own system just to test and see what they can hack and what they cannot hack. The guys who get kicked out of corporate and government IT and security organizations are mostly the hackers. By attacking and stealing information, they try to bring down the status of the organization. The addiction for hackers is the knowledge they gain after the malicious hacking and the ego comes along with that knowledge.

The attacks which are currently unknown are called as Zero Day Exploits and it is not possible to plan them. So you cannot plan for all possible attacks. Such kinds of attack are unknown to the world. You get better chances of discovering vulnerabilities by trying more combinations. In ethical hacking, the more you test whole system instead of an individual unit you get better results.

The impact of hacking leads to the negative effects. Some of them are:

As per the reports of every year, it reveals that there is a staggering loss in finance. Due to the hacking of PlayStation System, Sony lost $170 million in year 2011. In year 2011 due to hacking Citi Group lost $2.7 million, while AT&T lost $2 million. It is resulted into huge numbers for repaying the customer losses, patching the holes, addressing the lawsuits and weathering shutdowns of their system. It is significant to track the culprit and the damages of repairing.
