Critical Analysis Essay – Peer Review “Reality Television: What’s Real” grabbed my attention immediately. This is not a topic with which I am very familiar but your strong essay title made me want to read more. You ask some really interesting questions in your first paragraph, but the final question, the big question as you phrase it, is what impact reality television has on our youth. Is this your thesis statement?
As written, the final sentence is framed as your thesis statement, but I believe that you have written your paper to support all of your questions. Therefore, I suggest that you conclude your first paragraph with a broader thesis statement about the overall impact of reality television on our society. This type of thesis statement would then encompass all of the questions you pose and all of the hard work you did throughout your essay. Your behind the scenes look into the rocky marriage of the “Flip or Flop” stars is interesting, but I am unclear about what point you are trying to make. Are you suggesting that the couple’s failed marriage may be a ratings ploy? Regardless, I suggest you more clearly tie the story of their relationship to your thesis. …show more content…

Why do you believe that viewers of reality television are only interested in negative story lines? This would be a good opportunity to introduce some statistics to back up your opinions. For example, you could cite Nielsen ratings for negative storyline reality shows and show a correlation, if one
