“Because of reality television and all these celebrities thinking they can be designers, everyone imagines that they can just become a designer, photographer, or model, but that’s not the way things work. People have to go to school, learn their craft, and build a brand- that’s the right, healthy way to do things.” – Anna Wintour Reality TV gives people the idea that they can be whatever they want by doing nothing. It causes people to believe that they can get whatever they want, and that is not how the world works. All in all, reality TV is harmful to society. Falcon, found hiding in the attic not long after, revealed that the family had staged the drama for the show.” These doings teach kids that it is okay to joke around in a serious matter. This particular scenario could have taught kids that it is okay to play around with emergency phone lines such as 911. In addition to that, the article, “The Real Effects of Reality TV”, states “many reality programs demonstrate behavior, but never show the characters facing the results of their actions.” In other words, because reality TV shows only the outrageous crazy things people do and not the consequences of their actions, it causes people to believe that their bad choices won’t have any consequences.
