Ray Bradbury is a time traveler, or so it appears with such an accurate description of our technology today made in 1953. He made a very precise illustration of our headphones and cleaning robots. We’ve seen current technology predicted in the past before. For example, in 1964 the movie “The Time Travelers” a scene showed a woman talking on what looks like a cell phone. But there has never been such an accurate description of something that wasn't even close to reality so long ago. Described as timble radios, these little wireless machines helped Mildred go to sleep. They constantly play news, entertainment, music and talk that her society channels in. (AGG) In Fahrenheit 451, technology controls every single person’s life, the message that Ray Bradbury is trying to convey is that there are many dangers with technology. “And in her ears the little Seashells, the thimble radios tamped tight, and an electronic ocean of sound, of music and talk and talk coming in, coming in on the shore of her unsleeping mind” (10). The seashell takes time away from communication and interaction between others and lets people hear what they want to hear whether the information corresponds correctly or not. “Wasn’t there an old joke about the wife who talked so much on the telephone that her desperate husband ran out to the nearest store and telephoned her to ask what was for dinner? Well, then, why didn’t he buy himself an audio-seashell broadcasting station and talk to his wife late at night, murmur, whisper, shout, scream, yell?” (42). Today’s world has become so dependent on technology that people can hardly be away from their cell phone. In Fahrenheit 451, Mildred portrays one of those people. In the article, “Have we become too dependent on smart phone technology?” a woman and her friends test just how long they can be away from their cell phones. “‘The first 30 minutes to an hour all we talked about was how we missed our phones,’ Erebia said” (Ortega 1). The quote goes to show that people can hardly have conversation with out their security blanket, better known as their smart phone. “Smart phone technology is a double-edged sword when it comes to communication. Some people may be so engrossed in their phones that they would rather focus on that than on the person right in front of them – this is the bad – he said” (Ortega 2). At the end of this article everyone can agree that technology has a power over our lives.
In the technology driven society of Fahrenheit 451, where books are banned and everyone’s favorite pastime is the mindless task of watching T.V, it is rare for anyone to have any intellectual curiosity. However, pale skinned Clarisse is different. She has a different view on society and is a breath of fresh air to fireman Guy Montag. Clarisse acts as a window to the path of knowledge and understanding to Montag and opens his mind to the idea of books and intellectual awareness.
In conclusion, Ray Bradbury had an amazing prediction of what the technologies being made in his time would do to us and how it would affect us and our minds.

Huxley predicts the future world ironically, and I assume everyone hopes his prediction will not come true. Fortunately, Huxley’s brave new world is just a fictional world; no one knows whether Huxley’s brave new world will become a reality or not. However, technology improves rapidly and scares people that their world is gradually approaching to Huxley’s brave new world. So, my question is “Could the brave new world become a reality?” The answer is “yes.” The recent research shows the success of cloning and the prevention of aging in animal experiments, which implies that the technology we have now can actualize some parts of Huxley’s brave new world in the nonhuman animal kingdom. Hence, technology could actualize Huxley’s brave new world at the human level as well. Additionally, the actualized brave new world can be even more extreme because of immortality, and therefore, future scientists and engineers are required to make proper choices in order to prevent an extremely totalitarian community.
Technology is something that seems to be on everyone’s mind in today’s society. Does it really help? Ray Bradbury Biography U.S. author, born in Waukegan, Ill., on Aug. 22, 1920. In his stories, Bradbury wove together the intrigue of changing technology with insightful social commentary. One of his best-known works was 'The Martian Chronicles’; a collection of interrelated stories concerning the colonization of the planet Mars that attracted readers both young and old. In it, Bradbury portrayed the strengths and weaknesses of human beings as they encountered a new world. Ray Bradbury grew up in Waukegan and in Los Angeles, where he founded a magazine called Futuria Fantasia while in high school.
Montag resides in a very advanced technological world whereas in our society, we live in a technological world that is not as advanced. When Montag asks Mildred what’s playing on the TV, she describes a show that’s about to play where the person watching the TV also becomes a character. She is given a script and throughout the show, the characters will involve her in conversations and she has to read what’s on her script, “‘It’s really fun. It’ll be even more fun when we can afford to have the fourth wall installed. How long you figure before we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a fourth wall-TV put in? It’s only two thousand dollars.’ ‘That’s one-third of my yearly pay,’ ‘It’s only two thousand dollars,’ she replied,” (18). In this conversation, Mildred wants to get a fourth wall TV put in but Montag says no because it costs too much.
“There was a tremendous ripping sound as if two giant hands torn ten thousand miles of black linen down the seam. Montag was cut in half,” (Bradbury 11). In the novel, Fahrenheit 451, author, Ray Bradbury, creates a dystopian society where the protagonist, Guy Montag, realizes that the society he lives in is slowly falling apart and now he must try to find a way to help mend society back together again. When Bradbury wrote this book in the 1950’s, he was trying to exhort the problems he thinks are going wrong with the world. Although his thoughts thrived over fifty years ago, some issues like school, society, war, and technology are still a problem today.

Science fiction never ceases to amaze me as I take great enjoyment in exploring these creative universes. I have always had a great interest in military science fiction for its take on technological innovation and critical analysis. Military science fiction in general is very speculative about future of technology and warfare. The military science fiction genre also serves as a critique of contemporary politics as it deals with many of the same issues that go on today. This has made military science fiction one if the most well respected genres of science fiction for it ability to indirectly criticize modern society. My Integrated Project explores the relationship between how technology that has arisen from war has been some of the most innovative and why war has become an unshakeable aspect of human existence.

Many factors in Ray Bradbury’s life had contributed to his style of writing and the themes that he wanted to present to society. Some factors that influenced Bradbury were events such as the Cold War and the writings of other writers such as Edgar Allen Poe. Bradbury’s style of writing was shaped by many factors in his life such as world events, his techniques learned from famous writers, and the progress of society. From life to death Bradbury’s world was always filled with war and government propaganda that attempted to sway the thoughts of citizens about the dangers of foreign threats (Schofelt, Cordon, “Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury: 1920-2012”). Bradbury’s writings were always influenced by the constant reminder of these governments ideology filling his ears. Bradbury’s writing was also influenced by the writings of other writers such as Edgar Allen Poe. His inspiration as a child began with Poe and was forever changed by his style of gothic writing and the morals that Poe always presented to his readers ("Planetary Pariahs: Bradbury and the Influence of Edgar Allan Poe."). Bradbury’s best known works were considered science fiction and always presented a story of the dangers of unchecked technology (Mataconis "Ray Bradbury And The Real Lesson Of Fahrenheit 451."). All these factor into how Bradbury would style his writing and the major themes he presents to his readers.
The purpose of writing this essay is to give an idea how these two respected CEOs of multinational companies has changed the world. Technology is booming nowadays, even the minor things that we can do manually are done using technology. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple computer and Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has changed the world. These two leaders are best known for their innovations which has taken our world to the next level. Steve and Bill has got something in common. Surprisingly, both of these CEO had never graduated from college, but they are known to be the world most successful leaders and they both work in the same kind of company (Lashinsky, 2013).
