Leadership is not an easy task, one must have the courage, and bravery, to lead those who are willing to follow. To keep calm under pressurized situations, to remain level headed through the thick and thin of any event presented to you, these qualities are what form the essential foundations of being a strong leader. Leadership is defined by the ability to remain graceful, just, and most importantly, uncorrupted. Ralph, an exemplary leader in the novel, is the most likely choice I will concluded, in whose leadership I will follow. It seems an obvious choice, but it is rightfully so. Based on my own experiences, having the intellect to wiggle out of a situation is not enough to show exemplary leadership qualities. I have experienced this first hand. I was presented a situation in a group, where I happened to not be the leader. The leader was intellectual, logical, and wise, however he provided no direction. This group project was put on all of us, where we individually had our parts that we had to fulfill, however; the leader was not a pathfinder, therefore he could not give us direction on what to do for our parts. We were lost and scattered, and we could not find a solution. In essence, the project was kind of blown off, because not only did the leader of the group not ask for directions from the teacher, but he also did not take the initiative, such as a good leader should. Ralph, is my final choice for who I choose to follow. He is brave, courageous, he is desensitized in a good way, such as when he witnessed the deaths of Piggy and Simon, he stayed rational and didn’t act out, he thought clearly and concise. Due to his rational thinking, it is admirable to be like him, because of how calm he stays in explosive situations such as these 2 given ones. Ralph, overall, is the greatest leader in the
